someone noted and idea for book commands, and there is actually a way to flip a book to a page you were just on so you don't lose your place, however this doesn't work with the study verb, only for reading actual books

Books
There are a few things you should know about using books that
might not be intuitive:

To read the title of a book -- With the book closed, type "read book"
To read the text of a book -- With the book open, type "read book"
To study the page of a book -- Open the book to that page, type "study book"
To open a book -- Type "open book"
To close a book -- Type "close book"
To title a book -- Hold the book and type "title book as <title>"
To write in a book -- Hold the book and type "write in book"
To turn to a specific page in a book -- Type "flip book to page <#>"
To turn one page in a book -- Type "flip book"

to see this in game, type "help books" and hit enter

A couple I learned from reading one of the brilliant "alias" threads that I saw awhile back. I hope these haven't been posted before, if they have, sorry for reposting :)

put/drop held items
Allows you to put only the items you are holding into a container, or drop them, so that you don't see that "You can't, you're wearing that!" spam that you'd get if you used "put all"

get nearest
Allows you to get an item closest to you. Most useful in rooms with lots of items, e.g. rocks all over the place or whatever. Allows you to get the nearest one.

empty <container> into <container>
You guys most probably know this, but for the benefit of those who don't, simply does what it says. Empties something onto the ground. If the second container can't hold it all, the rest spills onto the floor.

Some of our newer players may not be familiar with the RPprofile command. It can help you get your character sorted out in your head before you go trouncing about causing trouble, and can be a handy thing when remembering character histories and other signifigant events (since you can't add to your character's actual 'history').

'help rpprofile' details its use and how you might utilize it.

I like this one: health opponent

You don't have to type your opponent's name, or health deer. This isn't too useful, unless you want to make an alias to check on your opponent's health. I have "hpo" aliased to do "health opponent".
To check my own health? "hp" of course. :P

Dunno how many folks use the graphic sky, but I have 'look graphic sky' aliased to '^'. Like, sort of graphically telling my character, "Hey, look UP, stupid."

Look Minerals - A must have for anyone that wants to mine, this command allows you to assess the type, quality, and amount of ore found in an underdark room that one can mine, as well as returning an estimate of how stable the room is.
